Progress Update 1

So we've been drawing, cutting & sewing all week. We started with my prayer dress which was a gift from Abduallh (sorry brother!). What Sara made, she gave to Jana (our 3 years old niece) both she and her mother loved it! I thought it was very ugly, cause Sara only sew the doll without adding any decorations (eyes, lips...etc), she only drew eyes and tie with a marker. My doll was uglier, I didnt get the propotions right and the end product was mermaid like thingi (we use it now as a pincushion lol).

We went and bought some fabric, I fell in love with a lesso/kanga fabric, I liked the colors and pattern which was so omani. Sara opted for a plain thick blue fabric, which was a bit dull. It wasnt easy finding the right fabric, we visited four shops and nothing was wow to us. We both decided that we needed felt fabric, and the only shop that sells it was Al-Hathrami. One meter costs 2.8 R.O and they didnt have many colors we got 1/2 meter of pink and white. We so need a craft shop here in Oman!!

Anyways here are the dolls (well not dolls , semi-dolls lol) we made this week , Sara's is not included since Jana refuses to let go of it. Also the first two I made are not included, I dont want to give you nightmares!!
